Patent Protection & Registration
Patents grant property rights on new and useful inventions, allowing the patent holder to prevent others from using, making, or selling that invention without permission for a limited time. U.S. patents are permitted by the U.S. Constitution and are designed to promote scientific progress and invention. By allowing inventors to profit from licensing or selling their patent rights, inventors can recoup their research and development costs and benefit financially from their inventing efforts. There are three main types of patents utility, plant, and design. Utility and plant patents can last up to 20 years, while design patents can last up to 14 years. When a patent expires, the patented material enters the public domain, making it free to use by anyone without a license. U.S. patents are issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
U.S. Patent No. 11,447,210 entitled “Water Board Towable by a Motorized Watercraft” issued September 20, 2022 to Cayago Tec of GmbH, Germany. Invented by Hans-Peter Walpurgis of Bad Salzuflen, Germany. The invention relates to a water board (2) made of a material that can float on water, having a support area (8), on which a user rests at least partially. To reduce the current forces acting on the user while holding on to and being towed behind a motorized watercraft (24), it is proposed that the water board (2) has, at a front-end area, an attachment segment (22) for the articulation of the water board (2) to the watercraft (24).
U.S. Patent No. 11,447,918 entitled “Intentionally Replaceable Earth Working Machine Milling Unit Having a Cooling Fan for Cooling a Closed Operating-Medium Circuit” issued September 20, 2022 to Wirtgen GmbH of Windhagen, Germany. Invented by Tobias Stinner of Nister, Germany; Christian Berning of Zuplich, Germany; and Sebastian Botzius of Siegburg, Germany. A milling unit for an earth working machine including a milling drum and a milling drum housing; the milling unit comprising a closed operating-medium circuit that includes an operating-medium pump that is embodied to drive the operating medium to circulate in the operating-medium circuit; the operating-medium circuit including a heat exchanger through which operating medium flows during circulating flow of the operating medium; the heat exchanger being arranged on the milling drum housing. Provision is made that the heat exchanger is configured for flow impingement by a cooling gas separate from the operating medium; and that a cooling fan, which is embodied to drive the cooling gas for flow impingement onto the heat exchanger, is arranged on the milling drum housing.
